Mandate

The Hellenic Community of Ottawa's Web site was created to provide a valuable and much needed service to the Hellenic Community of Ottawa. The web site serves to promote the Hellenic Community, its activities and its members to Ottawa and the rest of the world. In addition, the site functions as a mechanism for improving communication between community members and generating increased participation in the community.

Goals

• To increase participation and to stimulate interest from the youth of the community in this and other areas of the community.
• To keep the Hellenic Community informed of current events and to promote better and more effective communication between community members.
• To promote people in Hellenic Community, who exhibit special talents, through such initiatives as the Local Greek Artists page.
• To inform people from outside the community about all of the important contributions the Hellenic Community makes to the Ottawa region. Charity events, religious events, festivals etc. can be highlighted through the use of the web site.
• To give people who don't have direct access to the community a chance to participate and feel like they are part of our community. (i.e. people in Arnprior and surrounding areas)
• To promote Greek businesses and services, offered within the Ottawa area, through the use of a Greek Business Directory.
