The Estate of the late George Alexopoulos established a scholarship fund in 2008 to honour his memory known as the “George Alexopoulos Memorial Scholarship”. Jeanne Rosemary Georgiles Scholarship

The “Jeanne Rosemary Georgiles Scholarship Foundation” was established in December 2005, by Mr. Dimitrios (James) Georgiles in memory of his beloved wife. Mr. Georgiles, a great benefactor of the Hellenic Community of Ottawa, passed away on August 27th, 2012; however due to his generosity this legacy continues. Arcadian Association of Ottawa – 193rd Anniversary of the Liberation of Tripolis

Event @ the Canadian War Museum: 50th Anniversary of UN Peacekeeping in Cyprus

Summer School in Kalamata for Greek Youth & Teachers

The Panmessenian Federation of USA and Canada along with the University of Peloponnese in Kalamata have organized a Greek Summer School in Kalamata from Sunday, July 9th to Friday, August 4th, 2017.  The school curriculum includes:  Greek language, history, philosophy, culture and civilization along with educational excursions.  Students must be between the ages of 18 – 24 years old, of Greek origin, in college or university and have some ability to understand and communicate in Greek. Pavlos Anastasiades, Ambassador of Cyprus to Canada.

Arcadian Association of Ottawa – 197th Anniversary of the Liberation of Tripolis

The Arcadian Association of Ottawa will commemorate the 197th Anniversary of the Liberation of Tripolis this year on Sunday, September 30th, with Artoclasia, Doxology, and "Agiasmo" of the Holy Icon of the 16 Saints of Arcadia donated to our Church by the association. The Nominating and Elections Committee (NEC) received twelve nomination forms.  They were reviewed and validated for their eligibility according to the By-laws of the Hellenic Community of Ottawa.   All requirements were met and all nomination papers were in order including the candidates and their endorsers membership fees to the Hellenic Community of Ottawa.
