 Welcome to Sunday School !

Our goal is to make Sunday mornings a fun learning experience for the children.  We hope to accomplish this through age-appropriate crafts, songs, discussion and group activities and attending Liturgy.  Living our faith begins with the family.  Please lead your children in prayer, make the sign of the cross together, say the Lords Prayer, etc. at home, and we reinforce this @ Sunday School.

Sunday School will begin on September 10th at 10:15am!  Please arrive on time each Sunday, to insure that your child does not miss any part of the activities.  Please pick up your child from the classroom immediately following Church Service (by Noon at the very latest) as the teachers must wait in the classroom with the children until you arrive.

‘Visit Father Alex’ on the first Sunday of each month (see calendar on reverse).  The children are to meet their teachers directly in Church (front pews) at 10:15a.m.

Emergencies  The teachers must be able to contact you in case of an emergency.  If you will not be in church, please advise the teachers where you can be reached.

Attendance Each student who achieves Perfect Attendance (attended all classes) or Excellent Attendance (missed not more than 3 classes) will be awarded a certificate and gift at Graduation.

Homework   Not here! We suggest that you encourage your child to talk about the morning’s activities & sermon on your way home from Church each Sunday.  Proudly display & share their crafts with friends & family.

Dress Code  All students are to dress in respectful attire, appropriate for Church.

Offerings   We ask that students bring a small offering to class each week (we do accept Ortho Dollars).  This teaches stewardship and encourages the children to take pride in their Church through active participation and support.

Holy Communion   Please Check the Calendar in order to prepare your child to receive Holy Communion. Each class will receive Communion in rotation (see the Sunday School Calendar). It is very important to notify the teachers if your child is not prepared to receive Communion with their class, or will receive Communion (with you) on a day other than their designated day. Please note that if a child expresses to the teacher that he/she does not want to receive Communion with the class on their designated day, the teacher will respect that child’s wishes.

Parental Help   Please don’t hesitate to speak with any one of the volunteer Sunday School staff about questions that you may have, or provide suggestions & offer your assistance in any way that you see is needed throughout the year. This year, we are asking for a $10 classroom supplies fee per family in lieu of holding Bake Sales.  Parents will only be asked to bring nut-free baked goods for special occasions:  Meet the Teachers Pizza Lunch, Christmas Celebration, Godparent Sunday, and Graduation).
